The cuts in VA employees is irrational. I know some of these people have become very comfortable having a job and an attitude that goes with it, but what they offer you is a joke. I have seen this plan in effect around the 90's and it hurt a lot of people who have 20 plus years in and had no choice except to retire and some of them were damned good employees. Those cuts hurt the quality of the VA system because these older veterans who worked for the VA for many a year really knew their jobs and handled their jobs with pride. I left because of the constant threat of politics. Constantly being reminded that there would be cuts but my tenure would not have affected my position because I had over 20 years in but I could not take the stress and pressure of constantly being reminded that cuts are coming.
Get some of the young blood out of there. These people have some strange ideas of what a veteran is or should be especially is they are not a vet.
