Do the tax payers of Central Elgin realize it costs $14000 plus to print & distribute the garbage tags on a yearly basis? I have been told by 2 councillors that we need the tags to reduce recycles that are being put in the garbage bags. From the amount of tags that were turned in last year for the contest I don't believe this is a problem. The turned in tags were put in the garbage. If every house was alloted 2 bags of garbage a week WHY do we need tags that are so costly, not to mention having to go & pick them up? St Thomas for example has a greater population than Central Elgin. They do not use tags. The $14000 can be far better spent. What do you think as a tax payer? Do you think the tags are a benefit to our municipality and why?
