A Liberal MP for the Mississauga Brampton South riding says the kirpan is an article of faith and what it represents is an external manifestation of one's commitment.

I want to walk around with a dagger, too. That's ok, right? The walking talking Q-Tips get to do it...so it must be permissible for the rest of us.

hey canadian sikh, u seem a very racist man. next time i hear any body in Brampton crying foul over white racism, you shall be remembered right then n there.

i was born hindu brahmin, i am now agnostic. so that makes me a non sikh. acc to u, would i also be not welcome? grow up first and get out of that truck. be something in life and then maybe ur words gonna carry weight.

you spoke about parliament. I know you know Ujjal Dosanjh. I hold him in high esteem. Try and be a tiger like him.

Pulling a trigger on a paralyzed man like Tara Singh Hayer was an act of courage, yeah?

You are polite enough to tell others that they are not welcome. Let me very humbly inform you, bhagorays like you are not welcome in India, any state including Punjab. Get that very clear.

Fasicsm is better than following those ugly ass fuckss. I hope they ban burqa bitachess from voting thought. Who knows what man or women is hiding behind those freaky ass ninja masks. lol
what Hindus do as worship is of concern to you? I am more concerned over the use of swords in a place of worship-Gurdwara.

If you think they are backward, how is it of any loss to you? You talk off topic, I will reply if I think your comments are on topic. Btw, if you hate India so much, you may come back here for once and take others of your ilk from here. I am sure there are at least some more like you here, take them with you. Give a shout out if your boat capsizes though. Also, for your safety, ask Bagri and Malik just to make sure they dint plant any bomb.

Start with English 101 and perhaps we can talk then. Your lack of good upbringing and a near pathetic command over English is seen by one and all here.

Guys like you were troublemakers here and now you have started the same crap there!

There ain't here a white man. However, you might be easily confused because of the reason I described above- lack of English 101.

You can abuse any religion. You thereby prove you do not repect Sikhi at all. You know why I say that. Thanks anyway. Please continue.

A seemingly stereotypical Sikh response.

Why act so childish and ignorant of basic, civilized discourse?

Just because regular Canadians do not want Sikhs carrying daggers around in public, does not mean that Canadians are suddenly an enemy.

This is a subject that should be approached with simple, common sense. In this day and age, one does not need to be armed in public.

In India the Sikhs may have had to protect themselves from others that hated them, but in Canada you do not have to worry about that.
Sikhs are safe here, no need for weapons.

Time to be a bit progressive, and replace the kirpan with a simple symbol.

<quoted text> U are not civilized. Is it da way i spell cuz dis istn english class. I never once said Canadians are the enemy. I am pro Canada sikh who is somewhat facist when it comes to protecting our rights and all. We need kirpans in India cuz you can never trust hindus. Never. Not with a;l; da rss. Its not just a dagger thing its cuz it was the weopen used 300 400 years ago to protect our religon. Now it can be done with ak47's... People dont fight with swords they use bombs and rifles. But i think this whole parliment ban is not a big deal.
Besides the obvious problems with having a weapon in public, the kirpan is just another cultural/religious superstition similar to burkas, or multiple wives and should have no place in Canada.

Just another object to further divide humans.

In Canada we should be Canadians first, with religion being a personal thing, that does not include carrying weapons in public.

Just look at some of the people on here bickering back and forth...hindus vs sikhs.

Canada never had none of this BS when it was just immigrants of judeo-Christian heritages. We never debated who should carry around a knife etc...

We never had muzzies and their BS either.

The solution(sarcasm)....the policies of multiculturalism and politicians keeps allowing thousands of them to come here every year

Wearing a flower in your turban would be a nice peaceful symbol that could replace the dagger.

There is no practical reason for any Canadian to have to carry a dagger around all day long.

If your God demands that you carry a knife, you may want to rethink what you are following.

You want to know what we should really be looking at?

What proportion of the Sikh population even carries a Kirpan? Why the hell are we wasting political effort to such a cause when there are no reliable statistics regarding use and endangerment.

Why do humans put so much pressure on the thing we have to worry about the least?
