This girl is from Calgary, and on tonight's news they said there is video from the night she was beaten, appears to be an older white man, NOT her husband who was asleep in their room at the time. Not sure why she got up & went out but hey, she was on holidays & maybe couldn't sleep, no one will know until she can talk again. And the video will likely prove some drunk was hitting on her, a married woman, and if she declined his advances, sounds like he smashed her head into the wall. Glad she's getting better, glad her family can be with her at this trying time. As for those "Mexico Bashers" who say don't go, I say, hey, bad things can happen ANYWHERE, and those who drink all they can sometimes don't think straight. The Brian Fudge story in Ottawa comes to mind....a guy killed him 7 years ago on New Years Eve by bashing his head on a steel bar top, and even that didn't kill him outright, nope, another pal followed him outside & punched him so hard it put him in a coma & he died a couple of days later. Sad, but now the trial is just starting, 7 years have gone by, will justice ever be served for those who get abused/killed by others? Hopefully, but the Lord will obviously be the last judge they face anyway, then it's all down hill for them. You can follow that story here: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/story/20...

Only softwood on the original (no mexico), second one (with mexico) it was included...why else would Canada want mexico...cheap labour, has oil, and likes to kill/beat Canadian vacationers...then have their tourist dept lie about it. The US pushed this three amigo's, let me tell you the biggest threat to a country is not some Muslim fanatic, ITíS CORRUPTION.
We don't need to trade with F'd u mexico, or vacation there, many people are having problems although they donít complain or report it.

There are many other places to go for winter sun, with good deals.

It means that those people who thought it was a domestic assault by a husband on a wife, turns out not to be true. Guy is from a nearby village, a local, who turns out is looking for people to steal from. Likely we all look pretty rich to those poorer people in Mexico, so this guy can speak English really well & looking around the higher end places in order to fulfill his deadly deeds.

Ha, Ha very funny! Actually we travel to Mexico every year & have never had any problems. We've met lots of very nice people down there, some locals, some retired, some just going for some sun like us. If you think you're safe in other places well I've heard about people getting robbed in Jamaica, Columbia and even the Dominican. And don't forget about some of those richy rich types, like Jordan Van der Sloot, they have money & means, so take advantage of the girls he meets, hmmmm 28 years in a jail in Peru doesn't sound like much fun to me, but he did admit to murdering that girl, what about Natalee?? Yeah, Aruba sounds nice, but wonder how many more guys like these ones are out there waiting for vulnerable tourists?

I think Darwin is at play. Any whites who think it's a good idea to take their tourism dollars to that stinking cesspool Mexico deserve whatever happens to them.

I tentatively exclude from this the earlier victims, who were attacked by the dirty Mexicans before a clear pattern emerged. They still should have known better. But anyone going to Mexico now, when even the politically correct media has shown the true side of the dirty Mexicans, who love nothing more than raping, robbing, and killing gringos... they don't even deserve to be flown back to get a proper burial. Let the dirty Mexican street dogs eat their corpses.

Unlike those dirty dogs down in Ottawa who killed Brian Fudge for fun? Charlie Manasseri looks like some biker thug, maybe even mafia related on his FaceBook page...guess people better be wary no matter where they go these days, especially since old Charlie has been on the loose some 7 years since he murdered this poor young fellow. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Crime/2012/01/17/...
As for Sheila Nabb, she was just lucky to survive this tragic beating, and yes, it was a local man they just said so on the news.

Very nice insult all of the Caribbean, and S. America while you're at it; what an idiotic defence..."well all these other countries are dangerous too'.

You are either a mexican, or you were foolish enough to buy property there. For you sake I hope you looked real hard into that deed, as there are differing legal requirements needed for complete ownership, and not just some lease agreement that looks like it!

You have lots of fun in the sun, and pay no attention to those sensational net-stories!!!

Will be thinking of you in safe Cuba!!!!

I guess you "Ugly Canadians" wandering around with more money in your pockets than the average Mexican-- Cuban-- Dominican earns in a year, and wonder why they get robbed, of course you are not "rich" eh? do you really think all Canadians have enough income to travel south every year, yes you are rich, because you don't make as much money as the president of your company or work for the government with that exclusive pension, you are still wealthy in a majority of Canadian eyes.
Poor people do not frequent resorts.

Sorry Tomcawd if I came across as arrogant. I do have a good living, but in the context of wealth; no I'm not wealthy I'm one or two bad economic turns to...on the street.

That is why we go to Cuba the price is good, and the people welcome you. Cubans understand business, just like us Canadians! The economy provides some measure of control for all of us.

Do you have a better way Tomcawd?

actually he is the opposite of a biker thug and is not associated with the mafia. I've known him my entire life and he is not a murderer. Like every night, there are bar fights. the guy started the fight with Charlie, clearly thinking he would win because he was much younger than him, and got beat up than got kicked out and went on to get into another fight with someone else before he passed out. so maybe you should get your facts straight before you state assumptions about people. unless you know what your talking about, don't comment on stuff like you know the story.
