Pawn shop owner faces wildlife charges

Saskatchewan Environment has laid 35 wildlife charges and counting against a group of people for trafficking products such as feathered dance costumes.

Good for her. Hope she burns in prison....which she probably won't. She's a slum landlord---owning the biggest dumps in this town and she has the worst pawn shop in all of N.B, giving enough money to the drunks to buy a 2$ bottle of branvin. Good for her.

Well, all the pawnshops will pawn and sell anything they can make a 500% plus profit on. It's all about the money, some just are a little more careful and sell on Ebay. I agree with the previous post about slum landlord, however how many buildings of hers have to burn down before the city pulls her business license? The City of North Battleford should be fined as well- they let this continue, and they let landlords get away with charging 500 plus a month to people on Welfare for a home that Welfare pays the bills on. Busted out windows, holes through the house, pieced together wiring- no heat (remember Brooks Court?) People were using their oven to heat the place. I think our tax dollars could be used better if the cities condemned these houses immediately, but they don't. Since this ridiculous "housing boom" there is nothing to rent BUT from these people. Too bad these people buying didn't see the market 2 years ago, and that the house they just bought for 98,000, was listed for a year @ 35,000 with no buyers, cause it was a well known crack house rental! Welcome to the Battleford's.

No word on what happened at court today...nothing probably will.
Somehow it just don't seem right that the city does not pull her business licence after all the fires and shady dealing- and pawing from her house! Now this too. I guess its quite legal to open a pawn shop in your home and the neighbors just love all these drunks there at every hour, one would think the police, since they knew she does this and was warned years ago many times- would DO something. Nope...so if anyone wants to pawn off Status ID or identifaction or false teeth or eyeglasses...and all those eagle feathers and parts..go see her. THIS is why North Battleford is a slum, the city and police LET it happen. Guess we know who is lining who's pockets.

I don't think it's fair to blame law enforcement, as their hands are ties by law. They have to wait it out, until there is enough proof to have charges stick in court. However I do agree, she is a slum landlord, and in my opinion not to be trusted.

Hey she is not a slumlord...... she is a person who supplies affordable housing to the poor.... she is a hero,not someone to look down on....

Actually.....anyone can supply affordable housing...if they want. Does affordable housing mean that a landlord doesn't check the smoke detectors? Doesn't shampoo the carpets? Doesn't get rid of cockroaches? Doesn't evict and take possestion of people's property who already have nothing? Doesn't follow the rentalsman act for renting? Morals and ethics has zero to do with affordable housing, you fool!

the renters can supply their own smoke detectors,clean their own carpets etc........a little raid here and there and you have a nice affordable place to live if you are poor........ now pissoff ya tard.
