Maybe because he's an arse kisser and Michael is hoping for a special chancery appointment. Malone wants Slubecky out and he's trying to find a replacement. I would have thought Parker is much too old for Malone.
Slubecky is probably the most competent canonist in the diocese. Not a god idea to get rid of him.

Why does it always have to be a confilct? It's always something destructive. Why constant battle. The Bishop is the Shepherd, pretty soon he will have no sheep. Is that what he really wants? He should stop listening to his advisors and forget the Bishop Head plans. He needs to do a study to see what the great results have been. If it's only about money and not saving souls , just say so and go out on fundraising campaiigns . He could help raise lots of money for everybody because money is not the problem. Faith is the problem.
Faith does not pay for the utilities, buildings, teachers, equipment, and maintenance. The people with all this "faith" should have been supporting their parishes instead of screaming about how each and every dime was spent. I have been listening to rants about huts, lake houses, and cars for months. In my humble opinion instead of reflecting inward at yourselves, you blame the priests and The Bishop. So they eat well and maybe they have a place to retire, What is the big deal? Selling the Bishop's residence or making the priests give up their retirement places is not going to fund the schools and the parishes. It is a false smokescreen to keep the so-called "faithful" from admitting they dropped the ball. The days of the nuns teaching for free are gone. Grow-Up peeps!

Let the priests sell their summer huts and give to the schools their money.

And IF the priests did sell their summer huts and give to the schools, just how long do you think that would last?
Then what, after the money gets used up?
Get real!

Yea, so now its okay that the divine one keeps his $159,000 home on the lake - as long as he doesn't give the proceeds to the schools that are slated to be closed! You're talking from both sides of your mouth!

What are the results of 15 years of closings of churches & schools ?
The desertification of our diocese seems to continue.

WGR's longtime music format combining Adult Top 40 hits and rock oldies and featured some of Buffalo's top radio personalities, talk hosts and news reporters including Stan Roberts, Frank Benny, Tom Donahue, Randy Michaels, Jim Scott, Jerry Reo, Shane, Joe Galuski, Tom Langmyer, George Hamberger, Tom Shannon, John Otto, Chuck Lakefield, Don Dussias, Lauri Githens, Wayne Smith, Sandy Kozel, Jane Tomczak, Craig Matthews and Tom Bauerle. WGR gradually evolved to news/talk during the late 1980s. In 1987, Taft sold the station to Rich Communications, which was part of the Robert Rich family's business holdings, which also included a major processed-food company and a venture applying for a National League expansion baseball franchise (for which WGR was projected to be flagship station of the team's projected network). Although the Rich interests were the National League's choice for the new franchise they dropped out of the competition for an expansion team (which ultimately went to Denver, Colorado (Colorado Rockies) ) for cost reasons. Soon after, WGR was eventually spun off to new owne

Hey, Slubecky can, "Can" wherever the Bishop puts him. He can do as much "Canning" as he wants to. If he overdoes it, they'll just call roto router.

Heard that Monaco at St Katherine Drexel is making some changes. Has a new bookkeeper and now the secretary position is listed on the diocese job page. Wonder what is happening there? Heard the secretary did not want to leave. What does he have planned?

Do Grosz and Mancuso still celebrate in the Byzantine Rite. Are there any other bi-ritual priests in DOB?
