Will Malone be next to follow the example of Gregory Wilton and make national news? Oakland Place is valued at around 2 million.

Didn't you say to sell everything like ST FRANCIS ( not Pope Francis ) and give it to the poor? Do you want to put the soup kitchens out of business? Which poor are you talking about? Most clergy of all denominations like the poor in the suburbs.

It is a scandal that a priest buys a hut by the lake while his parishioners live in a rundown area around his palace.

I am not telling anybody to sell anything. And I am not telling anybody to throw some bones to the poor . The problems in society are much more complicated and I think the pope, the bishops and you should pray more and talk and type less . Pray for wisdom and forget silly simplistic solutions.

During Vatican II, a group of bishops were meeting to reflect on the Church in the modern world in the light of what began to be called “the Church of the poor.” In 1965 they signed the “Pact of the Catacombs.” They committed themselves to “live, at every level, the life of ordinary people concerning housing, food, means of transport and everything related to them, as opposed to the reality and appearance of wealth, especially in vestments… and in the apparel of precious metals, to not own property or bank accounts or similar things for personal use.” This was 50 years ago.

The IOR and now the APSA are not banks.
Even the Apostles had a burse. Should the Church go to the lake and catch a fish like St. Peter every time it needs some money?

Yes. Just like the rest of the population must. Why should they ask for my monies to help the impoverished when their sitting on their own stash which can provide the same result. Always easier to spend someone elses funds before you spend your own.
