UARB rules it doesn't have jurisdiction in biomass proposal

The province's energy regulator has ruled it doesn't have the jurisdiction to approve in advance a proposed biomass-fuelled generating facility project involving Nova Scotia Power and the NewPage mill here.

... If they really want to resolve the financial mess they have created, here are some suggestions:

-Cut all infrastructure subsidies to big corporations, especially to the oil and gas industry;

-Eliminate all corporate tax holidays and outright gifts like the $3-billion break for natural gas drilling.

There is already a glut of natural gas on the market;why add more?
