That is a great idea, but unfortunately, not a practicle one, since we are talking about thousands of pounds of lobster per fishing boat. Yes they would sell some, but not enough to pay their expenses to go out... Fuel, crew, gear, etc... We'd have to buy hundreds of pounds per person to make it worth their while. 2,25$ a pound for their canners (which is about 75% of the fall catches) is not realistic. The plant owners buy from the US (Maine) fishermans who make their money on the market lobsters (which is the majority of their catches) and then sell the canners at low low prices, to plants here in NB. There is no lobster season in Maine, they can fishlobster year round. Why don't the plants buy from them starting after the fall lobster season is done ? Why buy during the Canadian controlled seasons and flood the market ? The best thing I could suggest is for everyone to boycott all plants and restaurants who advertise selling Maine lobster But I agree with you "THE HECK WITH THE GREEDY BUGGERS THAT OWN THE PLANTS "
