The forestry industry is expected to contract by another 2.6 per cent per year over 2008 and 2009. Further appreciation of the loonie could cause even more contractions in the forestry industry.

"Forestry problems are taking a lot of growth from the economy. The construction aspect of the Point LePreau refurbishment and LNG terminal is wrapping up this year. Those were large projects," said Prince Dwusu, senior economist with the board.

Construction is expected to "fizzle out next year," the report said.

They say the resilient housing market in the province is expected to soften throughout the rest of 2008 as construction outstrips demand...

you have never been out from under your rock.
I bet you don't even know where this town is.

It is too bad when a town completely relies on one industry. This is the result of putting all your eggs in one basket. It is too bad, but seen this coming years ago.

And BC is the best place on Earth if you are talking Canada. Calgary is a shit hole. I have tried to live there four times in 30 years, just cannot stand all the non Canadians.
So Gordo did this right. Actually he has done a lot better than the NDP, it would have been a disaster if that fat bitch James and her welfare crew were in. BC would still be deep in unemployment. And they Indians would get everything, instead of 99%.
