Incidently, to the young woman commenting from NJ. I realise your not living here. So you have a different take on things. You should visit us here in Nanaimo. Nice people live here. People with aspirations and goals. The young people here are going places. The girls fighting are an exception to the rule. Most have good ideas on how to succeed in life and they have promise. What promise is there is showing everyone you are unable to cope. It is a big world and so much to learn and do here. Can't young people learn that there is more to communication then losing your cool under pressure? Sad commentary on youth if this is what people think young Nanaimoites behave like. They are not all so hot headed. Good thing we all grow up eventually and see there is an alternative to adolescent behavior.

I am a teenager and I heard about the fight that happened and to be honest i didnt think much of it. Fights happen all the time at highschools this fight jsut so happened to end up on youtube. Once on Youtube it was blown way out of porportion and i feel kinda bad for the people that are getting pressed charges against. Fighting is very immature but its not fair to say..(above absynth)Can't young people learn that there is more to communication then losing your cool under pressure? To many people blame teennagers for violence theres always a root to this behavior. I meen i wouldnt jsut wake up one day and decide to fight some innocent stranger! All I can say is that the posts made from the teens here are so hard to read. Hasn't any one taught any of you how to spell? I was up in Nanaimo a few years back for business. The people I met were some of the nicest and most genuine people I have had the pleasure of meeting in my life. I still keep in contact with a few of them. I am glad that I was able to visit, and I hope to get back there some day. Coming from the states where women tend to be a little materialistic and shallow... the women on Nanaimo were a welcome change. I am absolutely positive that the girls in the video are an extremely rare exception, and there is more to offer on that small island. Much love.

A fight is a fight. Someone punches/kicks/bites/whatever someone else, who retaliates. A form of assault, sure. Worthy of charges? Depends on the fight. Can we blame the internet for blowing this whole thing out of proportion? Definitely.
Now, I havent seen this video, but i think we can blame this internet super-highway with it's vast resources of nobody-cares-lets-post-it-anyw ay "information" for these girls now being known as violent no-gooders who are ruining the reputation of all teens. We moved back to the Island and sad to see that nothing has changed after 12 years. I swear that I just moved back in time. Same girls, same silliness. I guess the girls of the 80's became of childbearing age and started breeding. How proud they must be to have little mirror images.

I'm from america and although I can't speak for how life is on this island I can speak for the fighting. These girls for whatever reason feel a need to prove something.they think that putting there hands on another human beings,is…well I'm not sure why they do,and I don't think they do either.
