Canadian Crime News :O.C., Organized Crime

The Tingley Group

Michael Tingley appeared in court yesterday to deal with a slew of charges, but the matter was adjourned once again at the request of the Moncton Crown.

Tingley first appeared in Moncton provincial court on March 1 and was charged with 20 counts of breaching a court undertaking. He was placed on that undertaking last summer when he was released from custody after spending a year and a half in remand due to outstanding drug conspiracy charges and organized crime charges.

At his March appearance, the Crown prosecutor told the judge the 20 charges were laid without being reviewed by the Crown's office. He asked for more time for that to take place and the case was adjourned to yesterday.

When Judge Jolene Richard called the case yesterday, prosecutor Anthony Allman said he wasn't ready to proceed. The judge scheduled the case to return to court May 3.

Michael Tingley is one of four members of his family charged in connection with a major police operation. The case has been set for trial several times in Court of Queen's Bench, but was postponed each time and currently there is no trial date.

Rodney Tingley, his brother Roger Tingley and Rodney's sons Michael and Christopher Tingley were all released on strict house arrest conditions last year after being in custody since their arrest in December 2008. Those conditions were recently relaxed and the accused are still on undertakings but are no longer under house arrest.

They face dozens of charges including conspiracy to traffic cocaine, Oxycontin, marijuana, contraband tobacco, along with firearms charges and charges of being members of an organized crime group. They were arrested when the RCMP executed search warrants on several homes and businesses in the Salisbury-Colpitts Settlement area the morning of Dec. 10, 2008 as part of Operation Jekyll.

Does our justice system do anything for good people,
all they want to do is protect the criminals all the time.
What a joke.

I'm sure that Mr.Allman will delay it to the point someone can claim they didn't get the expedience the law affords them, & poof just like threat & assault charges the crown will have magically made them disappear!Funny is all, maybe there is monkey business about, or maybe Mr.Allman is just a lousy representative of "THE PEOPLE" of this province to our court system, either way I am sure he'll muck it up even if it isn't on purpose

TINGLEY SEEKS LEGAL AID
Published Wednessday may 4th, 2011
After a couple of false starts, breach of undertaking charges have finally been approved against a man accused of being part of an organized crime group.
Michael Roger Tingley appeared in Moncton provincial court yesterday for the third time on 20 breach (of conditions) chargeslaid by the Caledonia RCMP. On the previous two occasions the matter was adjourned when the Moncton Crown sought more time to review the file and seek further information.
Yesterday defence lawyer David Leblanc asked about the status of the charges & the court was informed by prosecutor Stephen Holt that they have been approved.
"The charges are before the court & proceeding"said Holt.
Leblanc asked for an adjournmenton behalf of Tingley.
"My client wants to apply for Legal Aid to have the matter dealt with," said the lawyer, adding that he expects to be named solicitorto be named solicitor of record if Tingley is approved. The case was adjourned to May 31.
Tingley is one of four members of his family charged in connection with a major police operation. The case has been set for trial several times in Court of Queens Bench, but was postponned each time and currently there is no trial date.
Rodney Tingley, his brother RogerTingley and Rodney's sons Michael and Christopher Tingleywere all releassed on strict house arrest conditions last year after being in custody since their arrest in December 2008. Those conditions have since been relaxed and while the accused are still on undertakings they are no longer on house arrest. They face dozens of charges including conspiracy to traffic COCAINE, OXYCONTIN, MARIJUANA, CONTRABAND TOBBACCO, along with firearms charges and charges of being members of an organized crime group. They were arrested when RCMP executed search warrants on several homes and business fronts in the s=Salisbury/Colpitts Settlement area the morning of Dec. 10, 2008 as part of Operation JEKYLL.
An operation which saw many friends, customers, contacts, & suppliers of this alledged group either arrested or having written statements against the group. As well as over 400 alledgedly incriminating wire tapped phone conversations between members of this alledged Crime Group & their alledged cohorts, in this province & across Canada.
Operation JEKYLL also saw 4 female members of the group arrested as well, one was releassed almost immediatly, the other three: Sharon Tingley, Melissa Patten Tingley, & Gail Tingley were charged. Later these charges were stayed, with the option to relay them by the Crown to help the case progress & move more quickly to trial. Also a third son of Rodney Tingley's, Kevin Tingley was also arrested & charged with several charges, in the Dec. 10, 2008 raid. He subsequently plead guilty to some in open court. Due to publication ban we cannot report all of these charges but intent to traffic drugs like COCAINE, & METHADONE, were among them.

wow leave it up to the RCMP to tell Mike he is allowed out to work and then follow him and charge him for having permission to be out also I wish the people writing this would actually take the time to attend the court apearances and actually see what is going on and not sit on a computer and jusge innocent people. I am looking forward to having a trial date set in the Organized crime case so the Tingleys can have their name cleared and move on with their lives before so called friends ruined their lives and had them falsely imprisoned for almost 2 yrs

I just wish Tingley supporters would stop blaming other people for their predicament!Nobody put this mess on the Tingleys it was all brought on by their own actions & activities!& Supporters who know them but only have that side of the story are obviously closed minded .There are three sides or more to every story, & every guilty man cries innocent untill for awhile, sometimes even after the truth proves otherwise beyond a shadow of a doubt! Some even fake crazy untill it won't hold up in court , then claim to have work in the woods to be freed only to fake a leg injury later so they don't actually have to work.Once a liar always a liar!& supporters of liars are just as bad!

Appeal from members of Tingley family dismissed
Published Friday July 8th, 2011
The Supreme Court of Canada has shot down a request to appeal a decision to withhold police documents that led to a New Brunswick family's arrest in 2008.

In December 2008, eight members of the Tingley family in Salisbury, were arrested by 130 RCMP officers who stormed several locations in the small village.

The arrests, which led to 57 charges, including conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, OxyContin, marijuana and weapons, were the result of a year-long investigation.

The five men arrested, Roger Tingley, his twin brother Rodney and Rodney Tingley's sons Michael, Kevin and Christopher, were also charged with being members of a criminal organization.

During the investigation, police obtained permission to intercept telephone lines and search warrants to gather evidence through information from secret informants.

New Brunswick's Court of Appeal denied the family's request to release documents related to their arrests so they could better defend themselves in court.

Federal law gives the government the right to withhold those documents. Yesterday, the Supreme Court dismissed the family's application to appeal the New Brunswick verdict.

Is dis de article youse wanted peoples to be lookin fowa?Youse guys are sooo right der is no dissin dat article at all! What a waste of taxpayers money, futile an inpertinent.Well unless your lookin to eliminate witnesses. But innocent ppl wouldn't need to go trough such lenghts.2 simply prove innocense would dey?
