We have lost 2 dear friends and there mother in another senseless, (it appears drunk driving) incident. Lets hope the courts will take a serious look at throwing the book at the driver, if he was indeed drunk. Ian and Rita McGillvray were a beautiful caring loving couple. I have known Ian for over 20 years, he was the baritone in my first competition quartet. It was tragic when his first wife died at a young age of cancer. But he and his wonderful daughter got on with life. Ian never wallowed in self pity. He was a very intelligent person who could just about figure out everything, especially working around and remodelling his home. HIs wife Rita was always with us at chorus contest venues helping with makeup. Always with a smile, we all marvelled at what a wonderfully matched couple they were.. Only a week or so before the crash, Ian was saying he had never been happier in his life. We are so going to miss him. Condolences to all family members of both Rita and Ian's and of course Rita's mother.
