A well known council insider, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time has revealed the following projects are being put on hold indefinitely due to 1.8 quadrizilliontrillion dollars in cost over runs for the multiplex they are projecting:

The Owl River deep water inland port due to be built in 2138 - kiss it goodbye!

Same with the La Biche river widening and deepening project slated for fall of 2136 - no need for it now since the Owl River Port is history!

The Plamondon Icebreaker fleet planned to keep the lake and river open are now on hold forever (+3 days)

Three park benches planned for the Golden Sands Interpretive Centre Park are going to be canceled.

The Golden Sands Interpretive Center is going to radically scaled down (to 3 rinks), and put off until the year 3498.

The Churchill Park to Mission tunnel and suspension bridge may be canceled or reduced to 4 lanes.

The proposed LRT that would link Dumasfield, Mile West and Vilna to the downtown core - sayanora baby!

New amber replacement lenses for the lights at Squirrelys are now canceled.

The high speed ferry between Owl River and Plamondon is being scaled back to 50 12' skiffs with 9.9 hp merc's

Under the guise of "going green", a 500 year moratorium on all paving of county roads will be put in place.

The bid for the 3003 winter gay transvestite olympics will be tabled.

Other methods of making up for the shortfall are also being considered, such as:

Forcing seniors to make "wrinkle porn" and distribute it on the web, if they don't comply Lacalta will be relocated next to the new Hylo mega-dump/animal waste depot and toxic waste facility.

Fines of $500 will be levied for anyone caught speaking french in the county boundaries, fines can be paid at Servus in Plamondon.

A $50 toll will be put on the Churchill Park Causeway, but only on the southbound lane.

Hylo and Plamondon ratepayers will have a 5 mil(compounding tri annually) increase for the next 25 years, some of which will be used to refit the golf club "platinum member" carts with cushier seats and nicer riding tires.

The Hylo ratepayers will be have $5000 annual levies assessed on their homes and properties because they will live next to a state of the art landfill and animal waste depot.

Vilna and Bellis will be annexed, the land confiscated and residents forced to be multiplex greeters and golf course caddys

Pavement on 663 between Hylo and Peter K's driveway is going to be removed and used to pave the golf course cart paths.

Hylo residents will be charged a weekly fee for dust control on 663, 54 weeks a year.

Giant murals of the pro multiplex councilors smiling faces will adorn the buildings in Lac La Biche and Plamondon, and people will be charged $25 to look at them ($50 in Plamondon)

Huge county sponsored drinking parties with pre-witnessed petitions will be hosted at the multiplex should anyone want to have a plebiscite on any of the above.

A new prison for the criminally insane and Guantanamo expats will be also built at Hylo

A stupidity tax will be levied on all residents of Hylo and Plamondon.

so, there you have it people!

see the light - just curious, do you compose your post's with a random sentence generator? Or are you really that thick?

Let me try:

we have buddhists in the valley and they worship hindus

what you are all waiting for the lake dries up

the god of kfc

only backwater hylo's demise is the chasm into which we will all fall

Hey, that's EASY!

GB - It not only seems to be a lot of money - it is a lot of money and I would venture to say that noone on council would incur this debt personally on an investment which will cost millions in operating dollars well into the future. Other facilities of this nature are discouraging use due to the high user fees that will be necessary. Where is the empathy in having costs higher than most can afford??? What dividends??( Names on a plaque ) Managed properly??(Not apparent as yet)unless of course you subscribe to dictatorship principles.

I disagree. The multiplex is not about and should not be viewed as a money investment with huge monetary returns. It IS an investment in the community. It is about raising the quality of living in the community. It is about investing in the people living in the community.
It's more like buying a house to live in. To create a home. To raise your family and create memories. It's not like buying a house to flip and make a monetary profit.
Will taxes go up? Maybe. Probably. But I would rather have my taxes directed at a project like this rather than having them directed at covering medical expenses for peoples poor health. Or covering extra policing costs because people are bored and turn to destructive or criminal behaviour.
There are many avenues to raise funds and keep raising funds for this building.
