Hi steve:
I find it unacceptable that going into deficit for the Canadian government is being discussed as acceptable, no matter whether the existing debt to gdp ratio looks good or not even in light of curent financial global crisis.
In times of reduced income, as per normal house hold revenue, government should reduce government expediture, reduce or cut programs.
The total cost of paying the original debt that was amassed by the Trudeau government which was less than 10 billion dollars have mushroomed on compound interest that those cost could have easily paid to rebuilt the Canadian infrastructure twice in the debt's lifetime, which is yet to be paid. Current debt stand over 300B.
Just think how much money have gone to paying the principal and the interest every year and if the country does not have any debt it could have gone to economic stimulus, reduction of taxes, rebuilding infrastructue or builidng new infrastructure and improving the general quality of life in Canada.
I applaud any government is willing to take the challenges to make payment to reduce the debt on an ongoing basis until there is no more debt. The sooner the better.
Sincerely,
Raymond Lee,

As it stands, the American voting system is a worrisome mess, a labyrinth of local, state and federal laws spotted with bewildered volunteers,

harried public officials, partisan distortions, misdesigned forms, malfunctioning machines and polling-place confusion...
