Apparently living like that is a death sentence in the eyes of some Muslims parents.

I read that story at work in the Ottawa Sun. Brutality towards women is a requirement in islam and allah approves of it.

"Honour killing"? Where is the honour in killing defenceless women and children? If you raise children here, they are Canadian and no longer adhere to the backwards sharia laws in my opinion. I hope they will soon see what the Canadian justice system has to offer, because I think they need some education on how things are done here. I’m glad I’m an atheist, or I might start killing in the name of an invisible space god too.

You're right ,Sara. These people's aim is not the truth , but to attack Islam. Islam has its strict rules about proving commiting adultrey . People's honour is not an easy thing. And also it states a sever punishment for those who accuse innocent women(100 lashes), these people are folowing thei own rules and not Islam

Also, honour killing is known in other socities not just Muslims, but no one focus on them.

If they want to put up a pyre to burn their wife for adultery and they "punish" her, but they better be damn prepared to walk right up to the gallows put right beside it and face the consequences of the actual law in the nation they live in. I'm not discussing their stay in your countries. I'm discussing whether their actions allowed in Islam or not. killing happens every day in your countries. Honour killing is hardly an issue there. Can you show us the percentag of honour killing to other kinds of killing , so I would believe it's a real threat to your socities that live in peace and security !!!!!!!!!!

It might have nothing to do with the religion of peace, also known as the "religion of rest in peace". But I suspect that it has everything to do with it. Hopefully, the police in Canada will clarify the case without delay and the guilty parties thrown in jail for the rest of their lives. If by any chance they are indeed Muslims, they will have the opportunity to put their but up in the air five times a day while reading the very captivating text of the Qur'an!!!
