Can we build a fire retarded home? especially for those living in the interfacing area's prone to fires?- There is so many unique products now available that this may be done.. A home You go into - in a fire that will not burn?- with air-tanks inside & foam (non-flammable) between the metalized exterior & interior walls. Contests to construct such a dwelling should be organized & another whole industry becomes available for shipping world wide, where ever fires, happen in areas folks want to live in.. The 21st Century hands us challenges ... but ... we rise to the challenges & If we build it ..... they will come ... & get some eh? We can build a fire resistant home & that is the only ones that should be approved for the inter-urban areas.. it can be done ... why are there no models available ?-- We need contests for new designs of housing requirements & start building the homes of the future ... we can do it... when?

at least mandatory sprinkler systems for roofs, & retardant spray canisters in all garage's in forested areas. Forest fires are not going away -- can we adjust our building codes to make fire retardant homes ?- sure we can ? what do you think, and have you seen one anywhere ?- thanks.. gordo

- there are now fire proof homes being built on some native reserves - Canadian made & developed this is what we need to be doing with the new buildings going up in the inter-urban areas around the Okanagan. Some of this will be addressed at the new Centre for Excellence in Penticton, when it opens in 2011. This is how to help protect homes, & family's in our areas.. - The fire retartand home, is a reality and other models can be designed, for our interurban areas. Other forms of afordable housing like cluster homes, that are expandable, by adding on additional pods, connecting to original pods so as a home can grow, much more inexpensively and easily, using home owners sweat.
