Alison Redford downplays loss of carbon capture project
Premier Alison Redford calls the deferral of another major Alberta carbon capture and storage project "unfortunate," but said Monday the province will continue to tout its environmental record as it pushes U.S. officials for approval of the Keystone pipeline.

The Wildrose applauded the cancellation of the Swan Hills Synfuels funding agreement, calling it wasteful corporate welfare and urging the Conservatives axe the entire program. Shayne Saskiw called the funding for carbon capture projects an absolute fiasco.
In a time of running deficits, to give out $2 billion in corporate subsidies to pump C02 into the ground with experimental technology is an absolutely dismal decision of this government, he said.
But Redford dismissed the criticism, pointing out Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith has said publicly she doesnt believe in climate change.
