The Armenian Relief Association of Canada purchased a large portion of the property for Armenian orphaned boys.
James Bradley, a native of Ireland, emigrated to Canada and settled in Glen Williams.
Unfortunately the Buildings were allowed to be burned down & all that is left of this World Renowned propert are the Foundation walls...

Rural areas developed very slowly on
purpose for nearly 150 years in Canada. Many villages fought successfully to preserve their distinct, historical characters in Concert with Their local County Councils until the 1970s, of which unfortunately many of, as of late become the Enemy of Canada's rural way of life, some under Their new (er) names called Regions where they act as a Monolith extension of the LARGE Developers who act in the fashion of Royal Regents themselves. As the urban populations increased and it was much easier to over-rule a Democratically elected Township Government & order via the OMB Ontario Municipal Board to impregnate suburban growth attaching itself like a Cancer using tricky words like the fashionable names used by Consultants spurring unchecked rural development, things began to change until economics started to hit home owner taxpayers... http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/stor... |
