Cooking her first Christmas dinner for 16 is a special celebration in new home
“My family still want the traditional turkey, stuffing, homemade gravy and mashed potatoes”
Julie Trozzi will celebrate Christmas this year for the first time in her life and she will also be cooking her first turkey.
The 35-year-old Brampton, Ont., resident and her siblings were members of the Jehovah's Witnesses until recently. "We never celebrated Christmas because Jehovah's Witnesses believe it is a pagan celebration," she says.
Now Trozzi is looking forward, albeit a little nervously, to cooking a traditional Chistmas dinner for 16 in the new home she and her partner Darren Fernando recently moved to. Read more

Oh I get that. It is just that some people have been under the assumption that Jehovah's Witnesses can't eat things like turkey and or cake! I always thought that was funny. It just mentioned also that this the first time she has ever cooked a turkey. I can just see someone thinking JW's don't eat turkey. Anything related to the Jehovah's Witnesses faith can get twisted so easily. That's been my experience and my opinion. ;) |

Thank you Top

HUH? Am I missing something? LOL! |

No I think we know you can eat turkey and cake . |
|
I understand what your saying and agree. |

My aunt always fixed turkey and dressing for our family reunions. I loved her dressing so I heaped my plate with it and my daughter said "Mom, we can't eat turkey and dressing". I told her it was July not November or December. I can eat it anyday I want it and especially if my aunt fixes it. |

Can you eat Lobster and other shelfish? Do you have any food restrctions in your religion?
Some religions do .Mine does not , my sister in laws does but then considering her faith although they use Christain it would not fall under Christain according to the essential doctrines of the church . |
|
There are no food restrictions. I personally do not eat shellfish, catfish or pork. That is for health reasons though. I also find it interesting that God instructed the nation of Israel, to not eat those certain foods. Obviously God knows what is not good for our digestive systems. He did design and create them after all. ;) |

You know Lady I have not been to a meeting for almost 4 years but yet I can remember it all clear as day. Why? Because it is a repetition of the exact same things over and over.
This thus would lead anyone with half a mind to know that you were hardly ever involved with the org if you did not think blood as food restrictions. What a joke you turned out to be so fast. |

Or maybe its just that the JW had you so jumbled with blood transfusions that you forgot that it was about a food restriction.
Either way..... |
