I can't even begin to imagine what this poor family is going through. My heart goes out to them.

Pedophiles are the scourge of the earth and once convicted they should be never be set free. Give them to the family; it won't undo the damage done but at least they'd get a taste of the pain they caused.

It's the same us and them attitude. The truth is that pedophiles make up your social circle.

As a society we market sexual maturity to an ever younger set of juveniles. Sex is everywhere on tv, in print, in the way people behave.

Primates are known for their pedophile predispositions. They way to cure this problem is not after the crime has been committed, but before it happens.

Mr. Harper and his self righteous gang (from whose ranks many pedophiles have come to positions of power, in churches, residential schools, even teachers) are happy to put tough spin ont it for your votes.

Not a penny will they spend in social programs to prevent those tragedies, though.

They count on passionate, but moronic sentiments as yours to get themselves elected, then they do nothing to actually help solve the problem.

Why? Like prohibition, its a ready made vote getting situation because stupid Canadians can be counted on to vote for them.

Sadly the number of idiots always outnumber the rational crowd.

Here is a solution that might have prevented this tragedy.

Education of the children who were approached and didn't respond to the molester's ruse to send out the warning signals to those people who have authority.

And it looks like these parents, fools like you who wish to blame everyone else, should have been taught to send that signal further up the authority chain immediately.

No, these dull guardians of everyone's children's safety did nothing.

The cry that a pedophile was targeting the community should have gone out the moment the first girl was approached.

Are these people so dull as that they could not see the danger facing their community?

It seems that the children told the parents as they were supposed to but the parents did nothing.

your solution of locking everyone up is nonsense.

Education and proper safety training for everyone is the answer. No money for that though in the conservative budget, only money for cops and jail.

That means that these institutions are going to gain power taking care of an ever increasing number of tragedies after the fact.

Th suffering of your children will be the foundation for massive jail projects, huge corrupt police forces.

Wow Klaus, seriously shut up with all your political crap. Its a missing girl taken by some idiot pedophile inside the province of Quebec...This basically means that in a week or so the girl will be back safely, the pedophile will have been beaten to death during his arrestation, and he'll be convicted to..hmm...20 years?

Its funny that the person in Moose Jaw would know more about something, especially about this missing girl, than I would considering the fact that it happened 10 minutes away from where I live..Secondly, my comment was aimed at people like Klaus who spew out 3 paragraph long comments on subjects they don't know shit about just to talk about police-states and other totally unimaginable stuff...Some people on these forums really are starting to amaze me.

And again, the inhabitant of moose jaw proved just how moronic he can be. I bet you don't have a wife or even children to speak about. And by the looks of it you'll never have some. But if by some miracle a child is entrusted upon you, and someone called you a pedophile, you would see how awkward and disrespectful that remark can be. Oh and I don't think that this my personal mail bag. I'm just trying to discuss this issue with the people who acutally have something to say instead of having a debate with some idiot in Saskatchewan.

I have something to say other than a rude comment cutting other people down.

What I said, idiot, is that in such cases it would be more of a help to educate children and parents to sound the alarm at the first approach of such a predator, unlike those who failed to raise the alarm when the first children were approached.

Wringing your hands and swearing retribution after such a crime will never never prevent the next one.

But morons would rather goose step behind tough talking politicians who, won't do a thing either to prevent the next crime. They wish to establish an industry based on crime which is self perpetuating and can be used to further dupe the public into voting for the "hard-line" approach.

If you don't understand the influence that politics plays in our lives, that is because you are blind.

Conservatives are interested in lining their own pockets like our former Conservative PM.

Your plight only interests them as a tool to get re-elected.

Social programs that include front end prevention education for a long term reduction of such crimes are not on the political landscape.

They scrap social programs like childcare and of load the problems right back on to the shoulders of those effected.

That includes their approach to crime, offload it right back unto the shoulders of Canadians and climb on their myopic morality high horse, as to appear as nights in shining armor.

Do you all speak like uneducated rednecks in the wild-wild west? My bad temper is only reserved for the dimwits who attack me and those I care for. In other words I'm only angered at the site of pedophiles, rapists, murderers and stupid idiots such as yourself.

What goes around comes around idiot.

You are the one who feels you can always attack others without it coming back to you.

When they get this guy, and get him they eventually will, all your efforts will concentrate on vindictive retribution, with no concern for the next victim.

The whole goal is to prevent the next one, but you can't seem to figure it out.

It is as if you believe that locking this guy ups solves the problem. It doesn't. It only satisfies assholes like you.

So you don't want him to be locked up? What you want him to have some nice little therapy, a bit of jail time and in 7 months he'll be released for good behavior? Klaus, unlike you, I am a family man. And I care about my family and those who have kids all around me and in this country. I only attack idiots such as yourself, Terry Long and Molari. There are about 300 different people on the Canada forum, I don't think me attack 3/300 seems that big of an issue. It just makes me laugh when you guys try to throw it back into my face with no argument whatsoever.

So if I'm reading you right Klaus, your solution is to educate people better at how to prevent and/or report pedophiles. While I'm not against education your arguments focus smacks of victim blaming.

And yeah, as a parent, I agree with Canada Prevails; it does make you "emotional" hearing of something like this - something that you imagine could happen to one of your kids.

Look, the police reports coming out of the town say that other girls were approached prior to this abduction.

It would stand to reason that I am not blaming the victim here.

I'm blaming the lack of education amongst the children/or parents if the children did tell the parents to call the police.

How you can construe that I'm blaming the victim for this is beyond me.

Any reasonable person would conclude had the warning been sounded at the very first approach, things might have come out for the better and the predator caught.

Those other little girls did the right thing and did not go along with the predator's ruse. It remains unclear to me if they did tell their parents. If they did and the parents didn't call the police to sound the warning, then there was the error which could have prevented this tragedy.

Education would have helped in this case if any of the children and their parents had followed through with sounding the alarm that a predator was in their midst.

When a neighbour tried to grope one of my twins, she was 6 or 7, she came immediately home to me crying.

I did not take the baseball bat to the old pervert, but immediately went to the police.

They had a file on him with groping complaints, but because of her age didn't wish to pursue the case.

That is when I went over for visit bringing a crowbar. He was in his seventies. His wife lured them for him with cookies.

I made it very clear that if I ever saw another child, no matter whose, in their backyard from then on, I would seriously injure both of them.

I never did see anymore children in that yard until I moved.

Some how the chain of proper reactions that would have saved this young girl was not completed. Either the children failed to raise the alarm with their parents, or their parents failed to sound the alarm to the police.

Why these screamers here would berate me for saying the very things that need to be said to save other children is beyond me.

Swearing retribution and revenge will not save the next one.

Looking after children is a community thing and much safety can be gained by educating the members of that community.

Why can't you understand that?
