I don't know any elected coroner that needed a medical degree in anything. If it's an elected position politics plays more than knowledge . A coroner just writes reports and makes second hand guesses , a medical examiner and/or police are called in to find the manner of death and collect evidence. If a person is stabbed and slabbed it's usually a murder.
That's a good point. People confuse the Coroner with the Medical Examiner. The Coroner pronounces people dead, the Medical Examiner performs autopsies. Huge differences in educational requirements I am sure.

Quincy was a Medical Examiner. Thus, the name of the show, Quincy, M.E. He was a forensic pathologist. A full blow medical doctor with a speciality. Quincy's boss was the Coroner. On the show, just like in real life in most places, the Coroner is an elected position and does not need to be a doctor. However, in the show, Quincy's boss was a doctor, Dr. Astin. That probably confused a lot of people.

... A supreme court justice is not required to be a lawyer.... but that is another story.

In large populated Counties, you would be hard pressed to find a Coroner who doesn't have some form of medical degree or medical experience. Small Counties like this one, all you have to do is be popular in church and you got the job.

Lillyville, does this comment fit the rest of JunkE's comments when it comes to church, He will be right there burning in hell with the rest of his friends, but that is his choice.

I suppose now he is going to say that I am not the judge, but he would be right then. But there is only two places for him to go and if he is that much against church to make that kind of comment, Heaven is not one of them.

Philippians 2:10 At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Someday everyone will confess that Jesus is Lord,we can do it now or before the judgement seat of God and then it will be to late.

Seriously, what the hell is the matter with you? Two men have lost their life in a tragic accident. Rather than offer condelences, or show even the slightest bit of empathy or sympathy, you spout insulting, nonsensical drivel.
I second that.
Condolences to both families.

Smite me for using the free will God gave me. I'm not Junkee by the way. It is possible for 2 people to have the same opinion.

My condolences to the families as well. This shouldn't be a post for LR to be holier than thou.

I agree it is not for us to judge who goes to Heaven or hell. I was just stating what the Bible says. If you don't believe in the Bible this will mean nothing to you. You are correct also in saying that God gave you a free will,He does not force Himself on anyone.

My previous post had nothing to do with believing in God, or believing in Church. I was making fun of small towns and their "election process." If you have the support of your church and a fire company or two, you will get elected even if you are one of the dumbest people on Earth. Look at Bob Reck. He's honestly one of the dumbest people I've ever met; but he is a COUNTY Commissioner. That actually makes me laugh out loud.

I've known Bob for years. He's just not a bright individual. He is a nice guy; which is why he got elected.
