Anyone who gets doored should be able call the non emergency line if they aren't seriously injured and report the incident and the driver should be charged and then fined for not looking before opening the car door. If the cyclist is injured surely that would result in a report that can then generate a stat to be tracked? Its dangerous to open a car door without looking. Imagine having your door taken off by another motorist because you didn't look before opening your door into traffic. You could get killed. Same goes for a cyclist. You could seriously injure or kill someone with your neglect. Then again I suppose you'd end up in court one way or the other being sued civilly and charged criminally. The simple solution is to look before you open your car door into traffic
