Budget deliberations are underway, with Halton regional councils three committees discussing the breakdown of the Regions budget and business plan for 2013.
The health and social services committee met last Tuesday to discuss the public health, emergency medical services and social services portion of the budget,
which amounts to $107.1 million or 41 per cent of the total net operating budget.
Regional Financial Planning and Budgets Director Mark Scinocca told committee members that while the net overall operating budget was increased by $3.3 million to $222 million,
Halton residents arent seeing a direct increase in taxes for some of their regional services because some of its being offset by a 1.5 per cent increase in assessment revenue
as the police & water & sewer charges may not be included in the above so
Region budget deliberations still underway
The budget review committee will discuss the plan on December 10 before it goes back to council on December 12th ...
