Should Milton follow Oakvillea s lead and do a study on where ita s appropriate to locate a power plant in town if another proposal were to come forward? Thata s the question Town staff and the municipalitya s legal counsel are currently investigating and hope to have an answer to give town council in the next couple of months.

... The company is run by president and former Middletown City Council member William Corvo.

A message left at Corvo’s home was not immediately returned.

Construction was scheduled to be completed by mid-2010...

i worked at the goreway cogen project for 2 years...

...SNC Lavalin, were the general contractors.

there was an incident,

where a crane touched a live transmission line,

that almost killed 5 workers.

Hydro one, came to the work site, and

asked what happened. SNC Lavalin, lied, and

pretended that the accident never occurred.

the Ministry of Labour, followed through with their investigation, and

after they could not blame the workers,

allowed the company to continue to put workers in harms way.

2 months after that near miss,

the same contractor(SNC Lavalin),

a worker was killed at the portlands project.

U.S. power plant explosion raises local concerns

(Oakville) It was unfortunate to hear of the explosion in Middletown, Connecticut this past weekend.

An explosion at a gas power plant couldn't have come at a worse time.

Since the Georgetown Acton Free Press woman & man so named newspaper editors here seemed to ignore the Hornby plant, this finally puts the concerns about the TransCanada plant into a spotlight ...
