Affordable housing was one of the items I listed on many election platforms.
We badly need affordable housing on the lands beside City Hall.
am not keen on subsidized housing and favor co-operative housing instead.
Mixed housing is the best housing option that doesnt create extremes of poor ghettos like in Ward 3 and rich gated communities of Ward 4.
The Region needs to address the fact that certain Wards are the only ones that have rental and affordable housing .
This is a planning issue and have concerns about the NIMBY attitude.
We think if mixed housing with easy walking accessibility to amenities are shown to the public
they will support this. Maybe not all but most will.
