Halton police are investigating after hate graffiti was scrawled on E.J. James Public School, 338 Cairncroft Rd., earlier this week.

At some point Monday night/Tuesday morning, police said, multiple suspects gathered outside the school and began drinking.

The individuals eventually pried open one of the school’s windows and entered the school, stealing several markers.

Police said these markers were then used to draw swastikas on the building’s exterior and on the windows.

Police consider this graffiti a hate crime and are investigating.

Police are also looking for the suspects responsible for a break-in to a home on Elmwood Road Wednesday.

At some point between 5 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., unknown individuals forced open the home’s front door.

Once inside they stole various electronics including a television and camera as well as jewelry and cash.

Police put the total value of the stolen items at around $5,000.
