usual report wording,“It is a financially challenging capital budget According to staff
that addresses the Town’s most critical infrastructure needs.”
The largest dollar projects scheduled for 2014 include:
•$6.2 million for the Robert C. Austin Operation Centre facility expansion on Trafalgar Rd.; again no detailed link here
•$2.2 million for pavement management projects (Dawson, Irwin, Eden Place, Mackenzie, Lewis, Weber);
probably in concert with halton region water sewer pipes, but again no links to know that either ???
•$830,000 Fourth Line (from 10 Sideroad to 15 Sideroad), upgrade to asphalt;
will this mean quarry trucks travel there now too ???
•$725,000, 17 Sideroad asphalt resurfacing;
is that where quarry trucks destroy the road &
the need for an improved intersection @ 4th line,
see above, needs widening for turning lanes etc.???
•$506,000, equipment replacement; a usual note each year but where does the old equipment go ???
•$500,000 to develop buy/lease partnership projects to enhance the Seniors Centres as well youth centre initiatives
... like buying the old A & P store presently under huge renovation ? for better traffic access with traffic lights or is most for Acton ???
Other items up for approval include a traffic signal light at 15 Sideroad/Eighth Line FIRE STATION intersection ;
which needs turning lanes & road widenings as well
right turn lane on Guelph St. at Albert St.,
where Hwy # 7 needs to be widened from Maple to Mill St
more Acton improvements,
bike lanes on Miller Dr.,
but no connecting links to Regional roads ???
Chris Walker Trail improvements and various not noted here, parks upgrades ...
