Weapons seized in Oakville house raid

Halton police seized a handgun and several other prohibited weapons, Thursday, after executing a search warrant on a Sixth Line residence.

An investigation by the Halton Regional Police Service Integrated Drug, Gun & Gang Unit began after it received information about a handgun being stored at the residence.

A search of the home allegedly resulted in the seizure of:

a Gabilondo .22-calibre semi-automatic handgun

49 rounds of ammunition

three Shuriken (throwing stars)

a morning star (medieval club)

two sets of bladed brass knuckles

No charges have been laid in connection with these weapons.

Police said a Sixth Line resident was unconditionally released due to a number of medical issues.

The investigation into the seized weapons is continuing
