Council is all hung up on not spending any money to save our heritage buildings but issuing Intent to Designate costs the price of a notice in the Independent. If the owners choose to appeal Councils decision to the Conservation Review Board they would find the board has no interest in the condition of the building but simply makes a decision based on the heritage value of the Hotel. Council need only provide Reasons to Designate and not a full structural assessment.
Given the results of the reader poll, there are more heritage nuts in Halton Hills than Councillors realize!
