Woman sues Donald Duck for alleged groping

A suburban Philadelphia woman is suing Donald Duck for allegedly groping her during a visit to Epcot in Florida.

In her lawsuit, 27-year-old April Magolon of Upper Darby, Pa., accuses the Disney character of grabbing her breast, molesting her and then making joking gestures that “he had done something wrong.”

She had asked for an autograph while holding one of her children when the alleged attack occurred in May 2008.

The lawsuit against Walt Disney Parks & Resorts was filed in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Dec. 30, 2009. No hearings are scheduled and Magolon has asked for a jury trial.

The Smoking Gun website released the documents Thursday. The site says Magolon is seeking “in excess of $50,000 in damages.”

Because of the alleged attack, the lawsuit says, Magolon has suffered permanent mental and physical injury.

The lawsuit contends it’s the latest in a series of assaults by Disney characters at the Florida amusement park, including charges filed against Michael Chartrand while dressed as Tigger.

Chartrand was acquitted.

Neither Magolon nor her lawyer, Michael Pansini of Philadelphia, was immediately available to comment.
