I don't live on the ocean but I have a respect for it based on fear of it's strength especially during storms.
I do not blame the father of one of the fisherman expressing his disappointment in the searchers loosing sight of the overturned boat.
It was Sunday when it was considered missing and Thursday when the decision was made though.
Nice to have some bodies to bury as the closure may have been easier but if it had cost a life to do so it would have only made things worse. If the mission is between search and rescue or reclamation the right thing to do is to follow established practice. The practice could be looked at again but I think it would be considered reasonable to maintain that avenue.
Still, I cannot imagine how these people manage the grief that these situations bring. Many families have suffered loss of brothers, husbands, grandfathers and neighbours over the years. Bless them all.
