Ministry pursues six-lane highway
The Ministry of TransporA tation is continuing to study the Highway 11 corridor between Washago and Gravenhurst with the aim of creating a controlled-access six-lane freeway.

There is no need for this, even on the busiest weekends in the summer the traffic is ok. There is no balance of losing more land (and animals) to urban sprawl. Shame on the ministry if this goes through. I have been traveling this stretch of road every weekend for over 40 years - I have no problem with it!!

Of course the changes have caused confusion for people....especially those who aren't familiar with the area ... like what went on around Parry Sound
