Why, do you think the driver didn't turn off his engine because he was afraid the border guard was going to r*pe him?

I don't know who was going to do what. I've said that. But to continue on the way you have thinking that it was okay for the guy to not obey a lawful order, is ludicrous. That's a big problem with society today. Rules pertain to everybody but YOU. If you don't want to follow the rules and laws, then you don't. And, no, I don't mean you, Pete, personally, so don't go there. People don't want to just shut up long enough to do what's right and get on with their life. Instead they want to whine about why they're being made to do something. Bullsnot!!!!!

Like I said before, I don't know what their policy is when someone questions their authority, but I bet it isn't to pepper spray the person. Because the end doesn't justify the means. The guy was sitting in a lethal weapon with the engine running and the guard sprayed a substance into his eyes and nose that is meant to disable an attacker. If you spray someone with this stuff they are suppose to run away or in this case take off. The problem is this guy was driving a car, so if he would taken off with pepper spray in his eyes he could have killed someone. It's against the law to throw something, squirt a hose, spray something, drop something on or shoot at a vehicle because you can cause an accident. I learned this before I had a drivers license.

So, then if someone is driving away from a situation involving the law, and the person has been told to stop, then the law should never do anything while the person is in the car because it might cause an accident.......... Even if the car isn't moving? Okay. I'll buy that. Not.

california has to be the car chasing capital of world. It's seems like it ends differently everytime. I know they don't shoot at the car or they're not suppose to. They put down strips to blow tires. They bump the car to make them spin out and stall. They chase them until they run out of gas or go down a dead end street. I just heard that they're not allowed to chase motorcycles any longer. I know from talking police that they let a lot of drivers get away with out chase if they think a chase will be too dangerous. For instance at night or in the rain. or if the suspect is driving a race car.

Your vehicle is moving and mine isn't, so the scenario would be different anyway. It's apparent that we don't and most like won't agree on this. I guess that I just feel too strongly about certain things and not doing what you're told is one of them. I mean, if he'd been talking to a Girl Scout and she was asking him to buy cookies and he wanted her to say please would be different in my opinion. But these are our opinions and they differ.

Aside from the disagreement, I have wanted to comment on something: you said in an earlier post that you haven't been studying the English language very long.... I have to admit that I'm impressed with the handle that you have on it.

Canadians should NOT waste their money by going to the USofA.

Allt he things that are cheaper in the territory of the underdeveloped southern neighbour can be ordered on the internet and delivered to Canada.

And for toursim, Canadians should travel to Europe, Asia and South America, where they are MUCH preferred to obnoxious Yanks.

Canada is the Scandinavia of the Americas.

the US is the Middle East of the Americas.

Where did I say that? Your fantasies aren't part of this debate.

An LOE will and should presume that someone who is not complying with an order has an agenda; usually it is a delaying tactic so they can get to a weapon or to hide something. If you are a civilian and an LOE gives you an order, you can comply or you can face whatever consequences they believe to be appropriate. They have a right to defend themselves from a potential attack.
