I feel badly for the parents of this young lady that was so tormented that she felt the need to kill herself.Fact is that kids are cruel and have no clue as to the damage that bullying creates. When I was a kid I was the target of a gang of thugs that made it their lifes mission to make me and a few others miserable. It started in grade seven and only ended when I left the area fours later.I never thought to do myself an injury but in my mind I killed all these guys a hundred time.Being a teenager is living from one crisis to the next and most have a very delicate emotional line to walk on a good day and it doesn't take a lot to push some over the edge.My daughters were bullied relentlessly while attending high school. It ended when I threatened lawsuits and when I confronted the worst offenders,I sat down with them and had a civilized chat and the problem was resolved. It was about four months back that a young man attending this same school, hung himself because he could not deal with the bullys. There is no way to stop this problem.Kids will target other kids for any reason. In this school the student population is mainly native which leads to harrassment of the non natives.School policy is to do nothing. However when it is the other way around justice is swift.Favouritism of the natives is the root of most of the problems in this school.I suspect that demographics is a major contributer to a lot of problems in Canadian schools. This is a problem that will never go away and it seems that nobody can offer a viable solution.
