I am not that old but the feel of the parade from a community bonding event where you seemed to know everyone in it and everyone on the sidewalk beside you has turned into a commercial event and has lost its small town feel, but I guess so has the town in general. I guess I will have to remember the 70's and early 80's with nostalgia as I grow into a bitter old man wishing for the past.

Parades are a big inconvenience in a lot of cities and towns, those who actually have things to do, are either detained or have to find other routes to go on. I think they are a pain in the ass. And giving out of candy should be abolished, most parents do not even give kids candy anymore.
They throw the candy out like the kids are dogs to chase it down, I think it is demeaning.
Not everyone loves a parade.
I use to have to go in them for my dance, and hated it. Also had to go in parades for May days, I was queen once, and always danced the maypoles, hated the parades.

Paul plays the clown in the parades, gay parades that is. He is the one with the colorful buttless chaps on. LOL! Easy entry.

Aren't they. And those Carnies, what a bunch of losers. I worked at this place and they let the Carnival use their property, and my son befreinded one, well I put a stop to that right away. My first thought was what does a older man want to befriend a little boy for? My mother's instinct bells went off in full force. "suggested" to him that he best not be trying to make friendly with any little boys in my area, or he would be sorry. People dissappear every day in the bush you know, and who would miss a carnie? No one.

Is there anything you don't hate unless it's EXACTLY what YOU do, say and like? Perhaps they should only have biker parades?

Where's your Harley, Honey?
