Alberta teens charged in animal abuse case that police call 'disturbing'
There are 20 comments on the The Canadian Press story from Jan 4, 2008, titled Alberta teens charged in animal abuse case that police call 'disturbing'. In it, The Canadian Press reports that:
- Four Edmonton-area teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 have been charged with animal abuse after a cat was allegedly killed in a microwave oven.
Police in Camrose say a home in the community southeast of Edmonton was broken into twice while the owners were away on vacation in late December.
Inspector Lee Foreman says the cat was allegedly killed during the second break-in.
Foreman says the case is "very disturbing and unusual."
The suspects will appear in court Feb. 7. Read more

That is just disgusting. Those kids are a danger to the society and should be locked up for a long time + get some serious physciatric help. If they can torture a helpless cat who knows when they'll get bored with animals and move on to humans? I hope they microwave in hell.

these four boys, not just two of them, but all four, need some serious pyschiatic help!!!! To do something this sick to a defenceless animal obviously tells us all just how sick these kids are. Of course all they'll probably get is a slap on the wrist because of how pathetic our judicial system is in Alberta. How sad. My sympathy to the cat's owners.

i live in camrose alta and i am so disgusted that little teenagers would do something like that! If they can do what they did to that poor little cat at ages 13-15 imagine what they will do when they get older.

These kids will have to live with what they have done. This is going to hang around their scrawny necks like a noose for many years to come. Animal cruelty will not be tolerated! If I had caught this group in the house, there would be a much bigger story people would be talking about!

This is disgusting, and shouldn't be tolerated, the judical system should realise that these kids are deranged, and need help. If they don't get phsyciatric attention when they obviously need it, someone's is going to get hurt, other than the cat.

These kids very stupid.
Everyone know you cant cook cat in microwave. Very bad. Must always use Wok with stir fry vegetables - bok choy, cabbage, onion, garlic. Season with hot pepper sesame oil and oyster sauce. Soy sauce on side. Stupid kids. |

Next to the Jamie Bulgar incindent in Great Britain, these are the most disgusting and depraved kids I've heard of. And their parents obviously haven't being paying attention and should share in the blame. As usual, the kids will get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again because next time we might slap their wrist a little harder! To me, people get so upset and vengeful because they know the kids will get away with it. We see it time and time again. We lose faith in our system of law and order.
Unbelieveably, this morning on a local Edmonton radio station, Magic 99, the morning announcers said the owners of the cat should share the blame because they didn't have an alarm system and left the cat in the house when they left! Gimme a break. Blame the victim. We often hear the legal system talk about "community standards" when it suits them. Why not let the community deal with this in their "standard", what ever that might be;) |

In response to Khoo Sum Lee, we are quite aware of how barbaric and cruel your country is towards cats and dogs, it's a disgusting and sickening choice of food. However there are millions of us across North America and other countries who love and pamper our animals. your comment was a sick and demented one just like the actions of those four demented teens who tortured and killed someone's much loved cat. maybe that would be a good punishment for these twisted kids, give them all a one way ticket to your country, in fact maybe give all the animal abusers to you, seeing as thats the way you live. What a disgusting comment you made.

what's with this Khoo kook? If it's a joke it's a stupidly insane one. If you actually are from Korea, God help your animals, but please stay there and away from ours. These teens did a horrible unbelievable crime against a defenceless cat, and no doubt brought on alot of tears and grief for the owners to deal with. But, what goes around comes around, and hopefully if it's any sort of decent judge whose going to deal with these idiot kids, he or she will do the right thing,and not ground them and send them to bed, but let them get a taste of incarceration in, lets say maybe a mental institution for as long as possible!!!!!!!

karma will get those boys. anyone who can cause another living thing harm knowingly and be ok with it is truely sick.
those kids need help. and wat kind of parents they must have to be doing things at this age. no im wrong im a 16 yr old i do things my parents dislike. but this this is sickning. hurting anything is sickning grow up! those kids will get the wrong end of karma soon. |
