United Airlines says delays will continue through weekend

Has anyone heard of a manual backup system? The airlines need to have manual tickets, logs, baggage tags and departure signs available for their staff and spend 30 minutes a year training their people how to go "manual". This is so unprofessional. It's like sitting on the tarmac in a plane for several hours...
