RE- "Kinder Morgan banking on its safety record" by Les Leyne

Kinder Morgan's safety record is awful. According to KM's own promotional information, the Trans Mountain pipeline has recorded 78 spills/leaks since 1961. In other words, a leak/spill of significance every 18 months on average. Every 18 months!
Numerous smaller and very frequent spills/leaks are not reported at all, according to the biased reporting rules they work under. All of these spills, every one of them, spews cancer causing chemical into our web of life. Deadly, carcinogenic chemicals including toluene, benzene and many more.
Speaking of benzene....Benzene & Kinder Morgan always come together. In April of this year Kinder Morgan was convicted, found negligent & responsible for the death of one of their employees, a Mr. Lewis, who died of Leukemia, directly attributed to Benzene exposure while working for Kinder Morgan. The court slagged Kinder Morgan for recklessness and abject failure to apply even basic health & safety practices in the workplace. The Lewis estate was awarded $7.5 million.
A dead employee, dead fish, dead birds, more dead people now and many more dead in the fast approaching future as a consequence of toxicity or way too much carbon in our air and our water. Count on Kinder Morgan's active participation, ever valuing money over life - Len Laycock
