Better education is key to changing that, experts agree. But the history of efforts to "educate" Aboriginals on Euro-Caucasian lines runs a grim litany from cultural repression and worse at residential schools, to the ineffectual present.

YOU JUST MADE A RACIST REMARK AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. When are people like you going to open your ears and eyes and see what the government has done to our indigenous people? It takes the Red Cross, not our government, to come to the aid of some of these improvished reserves our government has forced on them. You try to get a good education when teachers don't want to help you, don't care. You try to live on 375.00 month and have to depend on your Chief to fix your house, get rid of the mold, stop the rain from getting in. We have a third world nation living in our backyards and we do nothing.
think then act!

Third world nations do not get free housing, free cradle to grave healthcare, dental. The fact that the natives in charge of distributing taxpayers money to their people steal it is not our problem. The natives are given free education all the way through university.Just because they are unable to get out of grade three is not our problem. The natives inability to make it in the real world is their issue, not ours.If they did not start breeding at 11 years old and have ten kids by the time they are twenty five, there would be plenty to go around. They are the masters of their own disaster.People like Proud Canadian have never had to live with natives like people in small towns all over BC so they have no clue whats going on.Its people like this that get the government to keep giving away taxpayers money to fix the self inflicted misery the natives bring upon themselves.I know plenty of working folks that have to bust their asses just to be as poor as a native. As the very least the natives get what they earn.
