The government only cares about money, not quality of care. Liberals suck

It's really very sad because no one is getting all of the facts and putting them together, including the MP Peter Julian. Everyone is blaming the Liberals for the funding and yes that may be true, but no one is looking at all of these disgruntled employees and the HEU which are wreaking havoc in the media about the layoffs, when people aren't looking at the TRUE fact and the REAL issue that the unions are OVERPRICING for today's economy!!! How come NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THAT FACT!!!

I have been keeping up to date with this story and have read all of the different articles from the families and the MP... and I'm sorry but not one of them has all of the facts in order!! Even the media is allll over the place with what they are saying! First off, MP Peter Julian said they were being fired. There is a HUGE difference between being "fired" and "layed off" and they are being LAYED OFF WITH A HUGE
SEVERANCE PACKAGE!! Also, don't forget that unlike 90% of the population, they are receiving
atleast 6 months notice to find another job in a
market that is always in demand! Don't get me
wrong, I feel horrible for the employees and the
families but my goodness, unfortunately this happens everyday in today's economy.

Secondly, there was a son of one of the Veterans that did an interview about how irate he was that this was happening. He has only been at the hospital for 3 months!!!! How would he know anything at all about the runnings of the care centre? If he was a knowledgeable family member and someone worth listening to then he would know that they have been contracting out for the past 4 years! It was in writing 2 weeks ago! He would also know and be educated enough to know that you do not need to be part of a Union or be making $30 an hour to serve food or empty garbage cans and disinfect everything, answer phone calls ect to be career minded person. How ludicrous can your mentality be?? That was the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard, and what is worse people such as the media and the public are following and listening to the words of this man!! It sounds to
me as though he's a media hound and looking for his 5 minutes of limelight!

If people really care about the Veterans like they "say" they do, then stop being selfish and worrying about your pay cuts and concern yourself with the fact that they are doing this to be able to give MORE around the clock care to an aging population of Veterans!!! Listen to what people say before having an opinion or jumping on the bandwagon of the HEU! if these workers are concerned because they are like family to these Veterans, then continue to go and see them everyday or as often as possible, or take a pay cut and instead of making $30 take $20 like the middle class folk!! Stop involving the Veterans into your battle... It is terrible to see everyone using them including Global news. Of course they are going to be distraught when everyone around them is throwing a fit instead of encouraging them that everything will be ok. It's just so sad.

One more point before im done, everyone keeps saying "it's been proven that contracting out is not a good thing for BC" well where is the proof?? I would like to see it. Burnaby hospital has always been an awful hospital, before and after contracting out. I highly doubt that one of the best Veterans Care Centers in BC would ever let that happen. Have Faith in them... They obviously know what they are doing, they have done so well so far. Come on people, stop trying to create a mess and try to make it work! Wake up and see it's all about the overpaid workers wanting to keep their overpaid jobs and ridiculous benefits and vacation time... That is it!

They are getting
