Why? Why do the majority feel they must subsidize or out right finance, support and endorse any and all forms of destructive behaviour? The native "issues" are as any that leech off of any society or civilization. Why? Some twisted sense of politically correct social engineering and guilt complex? Perhaps it is time for every single member of society world wide to fend for themselves? Oh and please, the same old, same old we were here first blah, blah, blah is behond white trash boring..and competely underlines the arguement that all aspects of society should be self acutualized and self supporting. Bingo! This scenario might very well be happening. It's just like many Third World countries where crooks like Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe screw their own people, and then keep on ranting "colonialism" and "white man" as if all that were yesterday.

What First Nations really need ( we call them Native Americans on our side of the US border ) is to develop investment capital and a rainbow of professional skills and talents. By all means keep your heritage, but tool up for the Space Age. The buffalo will not rise again, and the taxpayers will get tired of the free lunch. Historical guilt trips can only be sustained so long.

AFN peoples have been working within the system, in some cases "Nisga'a people" over 100 years in trying to finalize an agreement that will close the uncertainty of ownership in BC; then allow business to thrive.

Placing the blame on those_"drunk indians" that can't get their shit together is idiotic.

Canadians need to wake up to the positive spirit the FN Peoples are developing, and good on them for digging out of that "assimilate or die" hole we threw them into!
