Hey Alex how are the SRT8s for 09 scheduled?? Im ordering one this week. Any word on the 6.4 engine for 2010 or has gas prices started any bad rumors??

We haven't started building the 09 yet as we are still trying to build out the 6000 that were ordered. I'm sure we'll start them immediately in the third week of July. There aren't any bad rumours because of gas prices regarding the Challenger as it is a niche market, however it affects us all. You will love this car, it also sounds really nice. I'm actually looking for an old one myself.

Alex this is a very important request. PLEASE go to work and dig into whoever you can to find out if there is a new rumor that the 6.4 engine will either be a limited run for 09's or the 2010 year. Im getting ready to order a SRT8 and REEEEAAALLLLYYYYY want the mustang killer 6.4 over the 6.1.
Any info or rumor would be helpfull.

One more for Alex. I dont know if you can help but it seems dealers are really putting the screws to average guys who want to order a SRT8,, some still want seveal K over sticker with no real delivery date and are hinting there will be very limited #s of 09's like the 08's. I just want to know if possibly there is any truth to the idea that they will limit the # of SRT8's or if I wait till after the first of the year I can get one at sticker, and still be able to actually get one (in Orange).
Any info you can provide would help a guy out.
If I can wait till spring and order one I can swing it but there is no way I can compete with the high dollar guys throwing money at dealers.

I will ask if the 6.4 is a limited edition or not. I'll get some info, just be patient as it is the weekend now.

Don't listen to those dealer's, they're just trying to strong arm you and force your hand in buying one over sticker price. There are no limits for the 09 and on. Rumour has it that we will be making the Cuda in the future as well. All we have to do is change the front and rear facia. You can order whatever at the price Chrysler suggests without having to pay over sticker price. As far as the colour is concerned, I can't say they will all be available as colours do change...But I'll try to find out for you.

The rumour seems to be true for the 6.4 coming out for 09. I was told it would have to be as a special order. In other words, we only build it as it's ordered and not stock piled. What I was told was, it comes in five speed which makes sense to me now and I'll explain. I just started a new job as a door fitter two weeks ago, but prior to that about three to four weeks ago I was loading transmissions and engineers asked me to load a couple of pilot transmissions that were manual, they were big, probably was the 6.4 is my guess. I knew they were testing the 09's I didn't ask any questions as I am very busy. We will be in full production for the 09's and on, if you feel a dealer is trying to stick it to you, shop around as you should not have any problems buying these cars at a fair reasonable price. It's a beautiful car and 09's will be even better as all the bugs are being hammered out. I would buy a 09 or a 10 as oppossed to any other year for all possitive reasons. The colours remain the same. We have been predominately making orange, then black and silver. I have seen a couple of cherry red, but that might be a special order. I was told that on top of those colours I mentioned they will be also adding crazy purple and white with black trim and possibly yellow. All of this information of course can change as it goes on...It is the auto industry. As it stands, that is correct....Hope to be of help....Alex

I'm sure there is a brampton forum, but I'm not looking, I just go on this one because it's right beside the chrysler news. To answer your question regarding the five speed, yes that's manual. I thought it was a six speed as well, but i was told five.
