(Well, it does Rumor.) Well, the rumor mill just keeps on churning - this time with some dirt on next steps for Alfa Romeo. Fiat is rumored to build a new Alfa Romeo rear-wheel drive (RWD) sedan on the platform shared by the next-generation Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. Earlier in the summer, we at Lexus Reports posted on these same rumblings about Alfa's intentions of platform sharing with the Chrysler/Dodge full-size sedans. More recently, our colleagues at Edmunds InsideLine indicated that buzz still continues concerning a new RWD Alfa, former codename project 169, with Chrysler/Dodge underpinnings. They also reported that the new RWD Alfa sedan, which will serve as a replacement for the discontinued Alfa Romeo 166 sedan, will likely be built exclusively in North America. If this does pan out to be true, the production location will likely be Chrysler's Brampton, Ontario factor where the 300 and Charger sedans are assembled. The InsideLine folks indicated that the new full-size Alfa would share the same platform as the Chrysler and Dodge sedans, but Alfa would endow the model with an Alfa-specific suspension and power trains. The forthcoming Alfa formerly known as 169 will undoubtedly be gunning for the Lexus GS sedan, and possibly even the Lexus LS and its full-size luxury sedan competitors. Will a Chrysler-based Alfa Romeo sedan be able to run with the big dogs in the full-size luxury sedan market? This remains to be seen. We at Lexus Reports will keep readers up to speed on Alfa's full-size luxury aspirations.

The article said it would be built in North America, NOT in the USA. Canada is part of North America.

The first article stated rwd car to be built in the USA then inside the article it sad it was to be built in North America. From what I was told the 169 is to be a modified 200C. The 200C is to be taken off the Chrysler product list due to Brampton not being able to build 5 cars (300, Charger, Challenger and the 169). They want to keep most of the body lines of the 200C but with an Alfa nose due to the hugely positive response to the 200C. That is what I was told basically a he said she said thing.

If they were gonna be built in the US, the rumor would be built in USA. Canada will probably get it.
