Seriously, I hate living here in brampton and feel like I dont live in Canada at all, feels more like India. Everytime i drive to and from work, all i see on the streets are ladies on their gowns and guys on their pajamas and torbans!
Where is the multiculturism in this country? its like cities are divided into small nations. if minorities come here they should adopt to this country!
They should name brampton "browtown" instead and change torbram to "torban" makes more sense to me!

How can you hate people you don't even know? Your subject line bears not only bad spelling but also a faulty premise. I believe what you are trying to say, albeit in a very offensive manner, is that you hate the way you feel as a result of your racial prejudice and your distorted perceptions of Canadian society.

Your comments are dripping with abject ignorance and downright bigotry. Your sentiments do not represent those of the vast majority of Canadians.

One of Canada's most beautiful and distinguishing features is our multicultural mosaic. It's not a melting pot, as the Americans are said to ascribe to. It's a mosaic. That's the very spirit and definition of what multiculturalism is. Many cultures, many colours, many ideas, many customs, many traditions, many communities, many cuisines. So that should answer your misplaced question. Next time consult a dictionary.

You would do well to examine Canadian history while you're at it. This is a young country with a population entirely comprised of a mixture of immigrants. That includes your own lineage! This is part of what defines our nation. Where is multiculturalism in this country, you ask? By its very definition, it is everywhere. We celebrate our differences and our diversity and we welcome people from other countries who come here in the hopes of building a better life for themselves--and their children--than they may otherwise have had. Just like your ancestors did when they came here. At one time they, too, were "minorities" according to the context of your statement.

Yes, immigrants need to adapt (<yes, that's how you spell it) in terms of language, laws, infrastructure. But it is nowhere in the Canadian constitution that immigrants must relinquish their own communities, languages, or, for that matter, their turbans!(<Again, please note the correct spelling and be advised that there are many Indian immigrants who are more proficient in the English language than you are...you know, English, one of Canada's official languages?)....

Feels like India, you say? Interesting. Have you ever even been to India?

Your gratuitous snipe about skin colour does not deserve to be dignified by a response.

So all that remains is your protest against the clothes people from another cultural background are wearing. That's pretty lame, really. Unless you think all Canadians should be dressed exactly the same.(Hmmm...perhaps uniforms, and a mindless jackboot parade!) Get real.

You say you don't feel like you live in Canada. Maybe that's because you're not acting or thinking like a true Canadian. That puts you in the minority. Take your own advice and adapt.

I totally agree with you Vivek & teenatuner,

Starlight I think you need to enroll yourself in an English Class or even "English as a secondary language" would be helpful. That would be a good start!

What is your actual problem? I ask this because all the problems you have aren't breaking the law, and don't seem to bother anyone.

Also, you seem to imply that "minorities" are the only ones dividing cities into small nations which isn't true.

Again, you know not where you tread--not even when it comes to rudimentary correct usage of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Look to whatever legitimate reference book you wish; you will inevitably find that "adopt to" is neither correct nor logical in any context of the meaning of that particular verb. Of course, the same can be said of "and nor" (glaringly and fundamentally incorrect!)(are you a pre-teen elementary school student, or merely a functional illiterate?)--but I have learned by now not to expect better from you.

Grammar and syntax notwithstanding, you have not been able to offer anything remotely resembling a rebuttal to the complete negation of the discriminatory vitriol you have spewed forth.

This is not surprising. After all, hatred is usually borne of ignorance. You have shown here that there is a lot that you do not know.

What is sad is that you seem unwilling or unable to learn.

It's not too late. It's never too late. I encourage you to take a remedial English course. More importantly, I encourage you to open your mind. Most of all, I encourage you to embrace the humanity that we all share and the differences that make it interesting.

I hope someday you'll join us....
Imagine!!!

Peace,
T.

Tennatuner: Your response is simply brilliant . Your choice of words is perfect. What a powerful yet subtle way to send out a message. Your first post was from Canada and the second from Romania. Where do you actually belong , if I may ask ?

I hate living in Brampton too. But thats because it's boring and full of ugly looking, and very angry, teenage kids. I like the Indians. They are much more pleasant than most of the white people here. Plus, I think there Pajamas (I am pretty sure thats not the technical or proper term for their garments...) seem very comfortable and stylish. If I wasn't so self conscious I would get me a couple of pairs of those. Just so you know, I am a white guy. I feel that's important to insert at this moment. Also, when I was 15 I called some old Indian dude a "paki." It's not like I think about that every day, but when I do, I feel full of shame, and I deeply regret it. So sorry to the man I called a "paki," I know you were probably Indian, and probably hurt. I was just some stupid ugly angry white kid from the suburbs. I didn't even really mean it, I was just trying to impress my stupid ugly racist teenage friends. I immediately regretted it. And it was the last time I used a racial slur. Except for Italians, I call them names all the time.

After reading all of this..As a government worker I see more white nasty people collecting welfare cheques than Indian. Brampton is full of Hilly billy red neck whitefolks. So look at yourselves first before aiming your comments to the Indian population.

To you ignorant people who are complaining about Indians making babies, yes we make babies for a great future generation as you lazy people are only fit to eat , drink and sleep , and have no intentions of making babies. And To you Zannix , Indian may look like fat chickens , but they make good kids due to the real Indian men they marry.
