That's the only fair solution. I don't know what else to say. Cops can't protect all of us.

You have a less than 1% chance of being a victim of a violent crime in Canada. You have a less than one half of one percent chance of being the victim of a gun crime in Canada.

Please, let's not turn this country into the USA.

I do think though that anyone in your house without your express permission should be fair game.
The left-tards in this country need to realize that you can't be a victim when yer in the middle of committing a crime.

The irony in the States is the cities with the most restrictive gun laws have the highest violent crime rates. The restrictive laws do little or nothing to prevent career criminals from possessing them. Furthermore legislation like the Castle Doctrine and stand you ground laws, are a significant deterrent for, violent criminals not knowing who is armed and prepared to use lethal force to defend themselves. Firearms are also one more check and balance in keeping a government honest, suppressing potential totalitarian urges.

The thing is that Canada doesn't have the numbers of violent crime to begin with to justify people walking around in their daily lives with a concealed handgun.

I never would want my country to have citizens walking around armed...there's no need for it.

Are there legitimate legal handgun owners in Canada?....yes there are. These are mostly gun collectors, gun club members etc and are required to go through special permits in order to obtain and keep those firearms. They are not allowed to walk around in public life carrying them concealed though. I want it kept that way.

As for 'long guns', hunting rifles etc.....there's millions of those and I see nothing wrong with that. Hunters, farmers are not comitting gun crimes in this country.
