Because it's cheaper to live in than BC and it doesn't have a Liberal government.

Lousy old Alberta - it's freezing here!
Then I'm guessing what you want is the coast of BC. My brother lives in the interior, last year he had 4 ft of snow fall in one night, BEFORE it was Hallowe'en lol

..... It's really surprising how the human body is able to adapt itself to very difficult environmental conditions! So the first priority should be, if you can, to go and live where you can make the maximum possible amount of money per year for many years. The oil sands happen to be in Alberta, so many now live in Alberta. If the oil sands would be in whatsename instead, then very many people would live in whatsename. But recessions that cause (a lot of?) unemployment could really upset "the apple cart".

..... I am reminded of a song about a man who stated that the best part of a certain (stated) city, 2 hours by train one way from where he lived, is his girl friend living there.[LAUGHS]

Alberta and Saskatchewan are current the most prosperous provinces in Canada because they know how to exploit the oil and gas when it is hot. They make the money while it is good. Then you have a province like BC that is over dominated by leftist environmentalist freaks who cause the province to always miss the tanker ship when it comes to money profits. There are still 330 million barrels of oil under the BC Pacific Coast and the successive BC governments did nothing to convince Ottawa to lift the ban on offshore oil drilling. BC has the resources to be prosperous like Alberta and it makes money by drilling and mining the bank accounts of the tax payers in various taxes, fees, levies instead. The environmental carbon tax is a good example of economic disincentives. Pay the workers crap and tax them to death with high costs.

Oh don't worry. No matter how cold the prairies are, all the high pay money and wealth will make you feel warm and gooey inside. On the other hand, all the BC nice warm environment will still make you feel cold and stuck in Anarctica, when you get paid cheap slave wages, high living costs, massive taxes to drain what little pay you have left, and never be able to save up for houses, cars, the good life. That is BC.

BC would be even better than Alberta and Saskatchewan if BC and capital city Victoria could actually get its shit together. BC has just as much resources as the other provinces, but the dumb dumb culture attitudes and the resulting policies just keeps getting in the way of prosperity. All the BC political parties can do anything to bring prosperity because they are all derived from the BC culture and that is the problem. The BC culture is enviro socialist anti wealth, success, prosperity. The things change, the more they stay the same and even regress. They like to coddle the weak and useless while handicapping the talented, intelligent, ambitious, productive, and effective. Why do you think BC has so many economic refugees to the other Canadian provinces?

I have lived in Edmonton my whole life. It has changed sooooo much...and not for the better. The cost of rent goes up every month now, but wages do not. As a single mother there is no enjoyment to be had when all my income goes on rent! I can think of nicer places to spend all my income on! Time for me and my family to move on!
