The federal government announced Wednesday that a new evaluation process will select a fighter jet to replace Canada's aging fleet of CF-18s. The new jet chosen may not be the F-35, seen here in pre-production form.

As for Fosters, I don't blame ya for not drinking it. Then again, the big name beers here can really suck depending on where they are brewed.
Beer brewed from, fresh, cold, clean glacier water in Western Canada beats the hell outta beer brewed from nasty, dirty Great Lakes water in Ontario. Although the micro-breweries across Caanda are putting out some truly world class products.

As for the F-35, in all seriousness, we'd be better off getting some Su-27s or PAK FAs but I'm sure the Americans would be some pissed off about that.

I know 1USA1 mentioned F-22s but A) the price tag is brutal and B) the US never intended to share that particular kite.
Exactly. The yanks won't sell the f-22

I lived in a country where there was a massive Canadian expat community. I listened to Canada's achievements for almost 5 years. I'd rather beat my head against the wall than google what Canada has done. Besides, I'm sure I've already heard all the things Canadians are proud of a million times...

For what the F-35 has got, it will be a awesome jet considering it's a Skunk works project from Lockheed Martin who was the first to come to Stealth technology 40 years ago. It's Just production is taking longer than predicted and know doubt the PAK-FA and the J-20 will have similar problems. We also need to keep in mind that the F/A 18F Super Hornet Block 2 was only one of 2 aircraft that defeated the F 22 Raptor at Red Flag and more recently defeated Indonesia's Flankers as well at the last War games we had.
