Nokia, Siemens to merge phone system units

EUROPEAN telecom makers Nokia Corp and Siemens AG have agreed to combine their telephone equipment units in a deal valued at roughly 25 billion euro , the Associated Press reported.

Analysts put a value of 20-25 billion euros ($25.2-$31.5 billion) on the new business.

This sounds like a huge merger. I'm just hearing about it, but I'm already wondering how it has affected the phone systems Calgary has. Companies like http://www.commpro.ca must have been seriously affected. That is, unless the Canadian and European companies have less impact on each other than I think.
