the long term prospect for the dump site is the very high probability that it will someday be below sea level. any long planning that does not include mitigation of this condition is bogus. it's like building nuclear plants without having a plan for decommissioning and waste storage. (oh yeah, right, we did that a lot and still don't have a plan). the owners of Waste Managment will make a lot of money from this facility, and when the flooding problems due to sea level rise start costing gobs of money, they and their descendents will be off the hook. future taxpayyers of Marin county will have to foot the bill.
